Review: me! bath Bath Ice Cream in Land of Milk n Honey

The bottom line: A pricey but fun little bath treat. Very relaxing.

With the boyfriend out of town last weekend, I decided to test out a bath fizzy that had been tempting me for awhile.

I received me! bath's Bath Ice Cream in Land of Milk n Honey as a Valentine's Day present, but just hadn't found the appropriate time to use it. I decided Friday and Sunday night baths were an appropriate time.

The Bath Ice Cream is labeled as an "Efferevescent Bath Soak," which I generally call a bath fizzy.

The label says this about this particular flavor, "The combination of milk and honey is a class recipe to combat dry skin, sleepless nights, and a hurried mind. Designed for sensitive skin, Land of Milk n Honey is the ultimate reprieve from a particularly long or stressful day."

That sounded pretty good to me.

Coupon code for the Balm

Oops, I guess it would've been nice of me to share the code for theBalm.com that I mentioned in the previous post:

If you're interested, here's the code I used, which got me 30% off: luckybreaks8 It's good through Aug. 2. And the site has free shipping for domestic delivery.

Online store review: theBalm.com

The bottom line: Speedy shipping, safely packaged and a free sample and catalog? I highly approve.

The latest issue of Lucky had an online coupon code for theBalm.com in their Lucky Breaks section. Since I've heard good things about theBalm's Time Balm concealer, I decided it was time I check it out.

Their site, theBalm.com, is cute and quirky. Their product line isn't huge, but there were lots of intriguing products. I really want to try the Read My Lips lipstick, partially because I love the faux newsprint packaging, but I was a little concerned about it arriving and sitting in my mailbox in the 98 degree heat that we've been having here. Maybe next time.

Since there wasn't a sale or clearance section to distract me, I stuck to my original mission and purchased Time Balm concealer in Lighter Than Light. I would've went with just Light, but I tested some on my arm last time I was in Sephora, and I am most certainly Lighter Than Light.

So I made this order early Friday afternoon, and believe it or not, the order showed up in my mailbox today (Monday). That's pretty impressive.

I have to say, I give theBalm's website ordering experience a big thumbs up. In addition to being fast as lightning, they have free shipping, packed my little concealer nicely into a bubble wrap envelope, and included an adorable little product catalog and a free lip stain sample. Since the site doesn't scream "free sample!" like Sephora.com, I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know if they always do that, or if it's a new customer thing or something.

Either way, I was quite pleased with the overall experience, especially because I was a bit nervous ordering from a lesser-known website (I usually order from large companies' sites, like Sephora and The Gap). If I like their products, and I suspect I will, I shall be ordering from them again.

Sale and clearance picks from VictoriasSecret.com

With the Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual sale going on in stores, I decided to investigate VictoriasSecret.com to see what kind of beauty products they have on clearance.

For whatever reason, it takes a little bit of effort to find the beauty clearance on their site now. But if you click on beauty and then scroll down, in the middle of the page there's a thing that says "Sale & clearance, 40%-60% off select styles." Or just click this link where I've done the work for you: VS clearance.

After looking around the website, I have to say that the stores have much better beauty clearance deals right now. Most of the stuff I saw on clearance in the stores is still regular price (or just on sale) on VictoriasSecret.com. And I don't see anything that's cheaper than it is in the stores — I think the $3.99 Poptimistic lip gloss was only like $1.75 in the stores. So if there's a Victoria's Secret near you, I recommend going there instead of shopping the website right now. But for those of you trapped in no-VS land, here are my picks from the website's current clearance offerings:
